Chocky Bars
Well another of the crazy things I collect is wrappers from chocolate bars, odd I know but they are little bits of our retail history and something cheap to collect... and yummy!
Cadbury's Creme Egg's
A Cadbury Creme Egg is a brand of chocolate manufactured in the shape of an egg. The product consists of a thick milk chocolate shell, housing a white and yellow fondant filling which mimics the white and yolk of a real egg. Creme Eggs are the best-selling confectionery item between New Year's Day and Easter in the UK, with annual sales in excess of 200 million and a brand value of approximately £50 million.[1]
Cadburys Creme Eggs hit the shelves in 1963, they were originally sold under the Fry’s banner and became Cadburys Creme Eggs in 1971.
A special edition Screme Egg is, sold during Halloween with a white and green fondant filling with the same taste as the standard Creme Egg.
They are produced at the Bournville factory in Birmingham, England. The egg’s roll off the production line as a rate of 1.5 million per day. The Creme Egg was also previously manufactured in New Zealand but is now imported into New Zealand from the UK

Kit Kat
KitKat bars were first produced by Rowntree’s of England, they were originally named Kit Cat in the 1920’s, the named changed to kit Kat in 1937. The four finger bar was first released on 29th August 1935 and was only available in London and the South of England, it was designed as a snack for men to take in their lunch box. Sales in the preliminary areas were high so it was soon released nation wide, by the 1940’s exports were shipping to Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
It was in the 1940’s that the iconic tag line "Have a Break, Have a Kit Kat" was first used.
The bar has gone on to become one of the most popular across the world with an estimated 1billion produced in the UK each year!

Wispa
Wispa was released in a trail in 1981 by Cadbury UK, with high sales figures it went national in 1983. The bar was taken off sale in 2003 and replaced by Dairy Milk Bubbly with a new shape, however in 2007 Wispa was put back on the shelves after a massive internet campaign to bring the bar back however the re-release was only for a limited time and the bar disappeared from the shelves again.
After the sales figures were looked at the Wispa bar made a return again in October 2008 and remains on sale.
